Stories at the Frontier of Design & Culture

Introducing Soft–Power

At Hudson Wilder, we believe design is never just about objects. It is about people, perspective, and the everyday rituals that shape how we live. That belief has guided Soft–Power, our ongoing platform for cultural dialogue, artistic exchange, and creative diplomacy. Now, we’re extending that experience beyond our four walls and inviting you to join us at the table, wherever you may be seated in the world, with the launch of Soft–Power.

Borrowing from political theorist Joseph Nye’s concept of “soft power,” the ability to influence through attraction rather than force, we reinterpret the idea through a design lens. We’re interested in its quiet influence: how an object, a space, or a gesture can shift our perspective, spark conversation, and change the way we live.

Why now? In a moment when culture moves faster than ever and attention is our most contested resource, the subtle has never felt more powerful. We want to create a place that values depth over noise, where design can be explored not only as a visual language but as a force shaping how we gather, work, and connect.

What began as a series of group exhibitions, now expands into a dedicated editorial chapter. Through Soft–Power, we will share stories from the frontier of design and culture: reflections on form and utility, explorations of foodways and travel, and portraits of the creative forces inspiring us.

Our hope is that Soft–Power becomes a trusted companion and a space for thoughtful discovery, an invitation into a more intentional way of living where design is not just a discipline, but a daily practice.

We’re so glad you’re here.
